William Thomas Grenier, 57, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Susan (Leclerc) Grenier, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. William was born on February 15, 1960 in Hartford, CT to the late Roland and Therese (Sirois) Grenier. A proud Hartford native, he graduated Bulkeley High School in 1978 and later attended Hartford State Tech. He married the love of his life, Susan Leclerc, in 1984 and together they built a home and a family in East Hartford before moving to South Windsor in 1995. William started working for A.K.O. Inc.,/Enfield Testing & Balancing Inc., in 1991, where he was still employed. Everyone knew William as a smart, self-taught man who liked to work with his hands. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and uncle who will be remembered as a silently strong, kind, and soft-spoken person who was quick with a joke. He found peace while searching for moose near the family cottage in Gilmanton, New Hampshire, collecting black and white photographs, and watching his favorite show: Law and Order. He was a friend of Bill. Along with his wife of over 32, years, Susan, he leaves his children, Jonathan W.R. Grenier and his partner Allison Shilling of Worcester, MA; his daughter, Alyssa S. Grenier of South Windsor; his brother, Richard Grenier and his wife Teri of Nyack, NY; his sisters, Elizabeth Martello and her husband Richard of Portland, Susan Nesco and her husband Jerry of Cromwell, and Gisele Rozman of Wethersfield and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Jaqueline Lallier and his nephew Christopher Lallier. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, from 5 – 8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 10 a.m., at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 99 Sand Hill Rd., South Windsor. Burial will be private at the request of his family.
