William Robert Donegan, 75, of Poquonock, beloved husband of Joan (Mazel) Donegan, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. He was the son of the late Earle and Florence (Sweet) Donegan and was a lifelong resident of Windsor. A father of Robert Donegan and his husband Daniel Morrissey, Michael Donegan and his wife Mimi and Jason Donegan; he also leaves his two granddaughters, Grace and Faith Donegan the joys of his life. Bill served his country proudly with the US Marine Corps. He was president and vice-president of the Windsor International Little League and also coached many years in basketball, soccer and baseball. His political career started as Windsor's Selectman from 1987-1991 and First Selectman from 1991-1999. He was an original member and chairman of the Windsor Fair Rent Commission and a member of the Democratic Town Committee. Bill loved Lake Winnipesaukee, Ogunquit Beach and Londonderry, VT, but his best love was golf at Airways with all his buddies. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 13 at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave Poquonock followed by burial in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. His family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave, Poquonock.
