William R. Corbett, 85, of Wallingford and formerly of Avon, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016. Born in Hartford, son of the late Joseph and Irene (Eukers) Corbett, he was raised in Hartford and lived in Avon over 36 years moving to Wallingford three years ago. Bill served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He had been an elementary school teacher in Simsbury at the Latimer Lane School for many years and also taught middle school at the Henry James School. He leaves his sister in law Cozette Corbett of Wallingford; three nephews Timothy, Kevin, and Jeffrey Corbett; and his close friends Salvatore Libratore and Beverly Gagne both of Avon. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Corbett. His family will receive friends Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 10-11 am at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A service will follow at 11 am at Carmon's of Avon. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
