Wanda Ruth Hardrick Yacone, 84 of Bloomfield passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at home. Wanda was the daughter of the late Mamie and David Hardrick and was the youngest of 10 siblings. Wanda was happily married to the late William P. "Yogi" Yacone. Wanda attended Hartford Public Schools, and was a Veteran of the Korean war. Serving in the Air force from 1952 to 1955. During her younger years Wanda worked at Royal Typewriter, she was also employed by the Bloomfield School system for several years. In her later years, Wanda was employed by Chase Enterprises, Inc. Wanda had an eye for fashion. She was an impeccable dresser and perfectly elegant. She was an awesome cook and a master home decorator. God gave her a gift of hospitality that she lived out to the fullest. Wanda had unforgettable cookouts and holiday celebrations at 222 Tunxis Avenue. She always made everyone feel that they were important and loved by her and her family. She was also a devoted member of The Upper Room Christian Center in East Hartford, CT. Wanda is survived by her daughter Marie Holmes of Bloomfield, a son William Peter Yacone and his wife Magdeline Yacone of Bloomfield, 4 grandchildren, Michelle Holmes and her significant other Donnie Norman, Karief Holmes, Alyssa Yacone and Isiah Yacone, 3 great grandchildren Alexis Norman, Donell Norman and Kameron Yacone, all of Bloomfield, 5 nephews Brian Kaiser (Margretta), David Brown, Daniel Hardrick Sr., (Kelcy), David Hardrick Sr. (Laura), Carl Hardrick (Marilyn), 4 Neices, Cheryl Blair (Clarence), Annette Jernigan, Eleanor Hardrick and Delores McCray (Sy), and many great nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by 3 sisters, Nella Lewis Crouch, Mattie Brown and Martha Kaiser, 2 brothers Claude Hardrick Sr. and Clement Hardrick, 3 nieces Norma Dean Totah, Carol Matthews and Rosalyn Beckham, 4 nephews, Atty. Paul Lewis, Ivan Bubby Lewis, Claude Hardrick Jr., and Ralph Hardrick.
