Vera (Mycofsky) Cerri, 87, of Suffield, CT, beloved wife of Reno A. Cerri Sr., died peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. She was born on July 20, 1925, in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Mycofsky. Vera grew up in Springfield, MA and was a graduate of Classical High School. She was married to Reno A. Cerri Sr., on July 31, 1948 and together they settled in Suffield, CT, where they raised their family. Vera was a communicant of St. Peter & St. Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Springfield, MA. She worked for the Pocket Book Shop in Springfield in her younger years and after being married worked for Casual Corner in Enfield, CT and Dobbs International Services in Windsor Locks, CT. Vera enjoyed running her Shad fishing stand, where she always had fishing tackle, burgers, hot dogs and hot coffee for the fisherman. She also enjoyed dancing at the Polish dances in Three Rivers, MA with her husband Reno. A kind, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed by all. Along with her husband Reno of 65 years, she leaves her children, Reno A. Cerri Jr., and his wife Judi of Byron, MN, Olga Cummins of Vernon, CT and William J. Cerri Sr., and his wife Tina of Enfield, CT; six grandchildren, Jennie Ochocki and her husband Jason, William J. Cerri Jr., John Cummins, Alex Cerri, Robert Cerri and Matt Cerri; and five great grandchildren, Jacob and Dylan Ochocki, Dominic Cerri, Ryan and Joey Ochocki. She was predeceased by her son, Edward A. Cerri Sr., grandson, Jason Cerri and siblings, Mary Szmyt, Olga, Walter and Alexander Mycofsky and Helen Zoladz. Family and friends may gather on Friday, June 7, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St., (Rt. 159) Suffield, CT; followed by a graveside service to begin at 11 a.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield, CT. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 4-7 p.m., with a Trisagion service to be held at 6pm.
