Theresa E. (Guadagno) Pomerleau, of Windsor, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Kimberly Hall South in Windsor, on Saturday, April 29, 2017. She was 84 years young. Theresa was born to Anthony and Mary Guadagno in Hartford, on September 17, 1932, weighing just 2.7 pounds. Her parents brought her home and nurtured her into what became a healthy long life and referred to herself as the "miracle baby". She was one of four children and grew up in the Italian section of Hartford. She had many tales of fresh homemade spaghetti being laid and dried out on the beds and treasured memories of going to Rhode Island beaches. She loved to ice skate at Elizabeth Park and she played softball in high school. She married Normand Pomerleau and as she would say, raised four beautiful children. She worked for Travelers Insurance Company in the key punch department for 25 years. She spent her winter retirement days in Naples, Florida, where she loved to take walks, play golf, fish and play cards with friends. Her summer was spent in Canada where she loved to play petanque and go look for deer every night at dusk. After returning to Connecticut, she found herself a part time job at the Jewish Community Center in West Hartford. Theresa is predeceased by her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her sister Julie (Guadagno) Ball and her husband Sam of Farmington. Her positive spirit, her infectious smile, her love for a beautiful sunny day and her adorable demeanor will live on forever in the hearts of her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and great grandchild: son, Victor Pomerleau of Enfield and his children, Victor Jr., Jason, and Serena, and grandchild, Autumn; and daughters, Suzanne Cucurello and husband Joseph of Naples, FL; Linda Collins and husband Todd of Windsor, and their children, Scott and Nicole; and Donna Labbe and her husband Christopher of Riverton, and their children, Sean and Sylvia. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, May 4, 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church, South Windsor. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to the GoFundMe site: an event that provides free back to school clothing for children in need in CT or to the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank, P.O. Box 854, Windsor, CT 06095, 860-683-4199.
