Stephen Wilson Hopkins, 89, of East Granby, beloved husband of Beverly (Hall) Hopkins, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Born in Westfield, son of the late Stephen and Ethel (Squires) Hopkins, he lived in East Granby for 38 years. Raised in MA, he served in the in the US Navy, Pacific Theatre during W.W. II. He did construction work all his life. He co-owned the S & H. Construction Co for several years, worked for the Papparizzo Construction Co for many years and retired from Marc Antonio Construction, West Hartford in 1987. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed wood carving, especially ducks which have earned awards from Maine to Maryland. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9929. Besides his beloved wife, Beverly, he leaves a son Stephen H. Hopkins (Susan Dempsey) of Windsor Locks; a daughter Bonnie Ann Feulner (Stephen) of Chester; 2 brothers Russell and John Hopkins both in MA; a sister Doris Santangelo of Cromwell; four grandchildren Stephen and Scott Feulner, and Stephen and Christopher Hopkins; six great grandchildren Violet Rayne, Corrine, Stephen, Beckett, and Juliette Feulner, and Lilly Lou Hopkins. He was predeceased by brothers Larry and Douglas Hopkins and sisters Marion Lukas and June Signorelli. At his request, there will be no formal services.
