“Family Of Shirley Sorry for your loss ”
3 of 3 | Posted by: Ron Sherwood Jr - Rockledge, FL

Shirley Christensen Rasemus, 76, was unexpectedly taken from us on 5/19/18 as she was returning to Connecticut from her home in Florida. Shirley was born and raised in Windsor, CT on North Meadow Farms. Shirley worked for SNET as an operator right out of high school and worked her way through the ranks as a supervisor and instructor. She retired to help care for her elderly father. Once her familial obligations were met she traveled. Known affectionately as “Auntie” to everybody, volunteering for different events here in CT and FL, playing cards at the Windsor Senior Center and occasional trips to the casino were just a few of the things that made her a vibrant and independent woman that will leave a large hole in our hearts. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Mary (Murkowicz) Christensen formerly of Windsor Locks and Kenneth Christensen, a lifelong Windsor resident. She leaves a sister Patricia and her husband Henryk Rosol of Windsor, a brother Howard Christensen and his wife Joyce of Manchester, nieces and nephews, Karen Rosol and Joseph Rubera, Kenneth Rosol and Gwen Muhlmeyer, Kathy Rosol and Howard Mayer, Sandy Rosol all of Windsor, Kristen and Trevor Bohm of East Granby, Ricky and Randy Rasemus of Essex and Anders Christensen of Manchester, great nephews Tyler, Ethan and Landon of East Granby, a very special great niece Megan Rosol and Trevor Nelson of Windsor and great great nieces Alexa, Ava and Avery all of Windsor. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. There are no words to describe the sadness felt by the family at this time. Her family will receive friends Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 4-7 pm at the Lodge, 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 25, 2018, 11 am at the Lodge Community Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wilson Volunteer Fire Company, 50 Pine Lane, Windsor, CT 06095 or the Windsor Senior Center, 599 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor, CT 06095. The Carmon Funeral Home is caring for the arrangements. For directions or condolences please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com
