Sally J. Kotowski, 78, of Windsor, beloved wife for 57 years of Frederick T. Kotowski, passed away peacefully Friday, June 2, 2017, surrounded by her family at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Orange, CT on May 23, 1939, daughter of the late Vernon and Margaret (Jessup) Garrity, she was raised in Granby and was a graduate of Granby Memorial High School, Class of 1958. After her wedding, Sally and her husband Frederick lived in West Suffield for many years before moving to Windsor 30 years ago. Sally started her career at Choice Vend in Windsor Locks and later took a position at Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield where she worked in the purchasing department until her retirement after 26 years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, shopping, cooking, and watching NASCAR races and her favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees. Each year she looked forward to vacationing with her family and especially enjoyed the trips they took to Old Orchard Beach in Maine. During her retirement, Sally volunteered for many years at MeadowBrook of Granby. Besides her loving husband, she leaves a son, Michael J. Kotowski of Suffield; a daughter, Carol A. Kotowski of Philadelphia, PA; a sister, Joan Ferrari of Suffield; a brother-in-law, Robert Cotton of Chalfont, PA; seven nieces, Trish Ceruito and her husband Brian of Torrington, Maureen Coleman and her husband Jeff of Colebrook, Colleen Coleman and her husband Mike of Colebrook, Susan Reidy and her husband John of Winsted, Kathy Garrity of Winsted, Nancy Lansberry and her husband Dave of Pennsylvania, Debbie Kleeman and her husband Rob of Chalfont, PA; and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Vernon "Buck" Garrity; and a sister, Jean Cotton. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, June 10, 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. Burial will follow in Granby Cemetery, Granby. Sally's family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
