Russell Dinallo, 90, of Southbury and Windsor, died peacefully, Thursday, April 7, 2016. Born in Bloomfield, one of eight children to Andrew and Mary (Yanette) Dinallo. He was raised and attended schools in Windsor and served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Russell married Alice Markesich in 1951 and lived in Windsor most of his life where they raised their family. He worked in the family business, Dinallo Brothers Celery in Hartford and later joined Amoco/BP where he worked until his retirement in 1985. Besides his wife Alice, he leaves two sons and their families, Russell A. Dinallo and his wife Susan of Ashford and Roger M. Dinallo and his wife Dawn of Woodbury; four grandchildren Russell, Jr., Gina, Sean, and Andrew; a sister Audrey Bersano and her husband Pete of Arlington, VA; a niece Carol DiBiasis; sister-in-law Peggy Rostek; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings Albert, Roger, Raymond, Herbert, Violet Burbeck, and Grace Markham. Russell's family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at the Hearth in Southbury for their kindness and excellent care. In addition, the family would like to thank the nurses of Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut. His family will receive friends Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 12- 1pm followed by a service at 1 pm at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Avenue, Poquonock section of Windsor. Burial will follow in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 30 Milestone Rd., Danbury, CT 06810 of a charity of one's choice.
