Robert “Bob” Martin, 63, of Windsor, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hartford on May 25, 1954, son of the late Raymond and Louise Martin, he was lifelong resident of Windsor and a graduate of St. Gabriel School and Windsor High School, Class of 1973. After high school, Bob continued his education at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where he graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts. Bob worked for Aramark as a chef for over 25 years. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, UConn Basketball, and New England Patriots fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Gabriel Church in Windsor. He leaves two sons, Robert D. Martin and his wife Samantha of Windsor and Thomas E. Martin and his wife Jane of Marlborough, MA; two brothers, Kevin Martin and his wife Corinne of Windsor and Gary Martin and his wife Kathleen of Enfield; four sisters, Mary Faulkner and her husband A. Brady of Harwinton, Kathleen Rago and her husband William of Burlington, Carol Connolly and her husband James of Vernon, Deborah Zaffetti and her husband Robert of Feeding Hills, MA; two grandchildren, Liam and Elaina Martin; a special cousin, Patricia O’Neil of Torrington; and his special companion, Joan Rhodes of Windsor. His family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 4-7 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, July 11, 10 a.m., at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St., Windsor. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 217 Washington St., Hartford, CT 06106.
