Robert E. Kelly, 72, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Hebrew Home and Hospital in West Hartford. Born in Brookhaven, MS to Otis Kelly and the late Annie Mae McCall, he was raised in Springfield, MA and lived most of his adult life in Hartford. Robert was a member of the Elks Lodge #86 in Hartford and was a hardworking man who enjoyed playing cards in his spare time. Besides his father Otis Kelly and his wife Christine of Springfield, MA, he is survived by his sons, Anthony Kelly and his fiancé Shundra of Macon, GA, and Chiwanda Johnson of Middletown; his daughters, Robin Kelly of Manchester and Shelia Crump and her husband Carl of Macon, GA; his grandson Anthony Reid; his brothers, Johnny and Sherman Lee; and his sisters, Joann, Aline, Linda, Brenda, Mary, Jacqueline, Susan and Jerrilyn. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 14 at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will host a repast at the Elk's Lodge, 171 Bellevue Street, Hartford following the service.
