Rita (Brunell) Miner LaPlante, 94, of Seminole, FL, wife of the late Theodore Miner and Joseph LaPlante, died Sunday, May 13, 2012. Born in Fiskdale, MA, daughter of the late Francis and Alida (St John) Brunell, she lived in Windsor Locks for over 40 years moving to Florida 17 years ago. Rita had been employed by the Montgomery Company, Windsor Locks for many years. She enjoyed her role as homemaker and loved to cook, crochet, and dance. She had been active in the Ladies of the Moose Lodge in Seminole, FL. Rita leaves three sons Richard Miner and his wife Patricia of Suffield, Larry Miner and his wife Marie Ann of Greenville, NC, and Bruce Miner of Belhaven, NC; three step sons Keith LaPlante and his wife Kathy, Gary LaPlante and his wife Melanie, and Dennis LaPlante and his wife Joanne; grandchildren, Patrice Miner, Richard Miner and his wife Kristen, Michele Miner, Rita Borowiec Williams and her husband Steve, and Diane Borowiec Leroux and her husband Connie; several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. Besides her husband's Theodore and Joseph she was predeceased by her daughter Lucille Borowiec and grandson Michael Borowiec, Jr. Her family will receive friends Saturday, May 19, from 9:30-10:30 am at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East Street, Suffield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11am at Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Windsor Locks.
