Raymond Donahue, 93, of Poquonock, beloved husband of the late Lois (Cook) Donahue, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2013. Born in Poquonock to the late William and Lucille (Kenefick) Donahue, he has been a Poquonock resident all his life and a member of St. Joseph Church in Poquonock. He proudly served his country during WWII with the US Army and was a member of the VFW Raymond McHugh Post #4740. Raymond was an avid NY Yankees fan and volunteered for many years with Windsor's Little League as well as Windsor's economic and industrial development team. He is survived by his son Bruce Donahue of Norwich; his daughter Kathleen Farno and her husband Gregory of Baltimore, MD; his grandchildren, Patrick and Meghan Farno; and his son-in-law Douglas Kurlwenz. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Sharon Kurlwenz, his brother Thomas Donahue, and his sisters, Delores Walters, Geraldine Williams, and Rita Kleczek. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Kindred Healthcare in Windsor for their compassionate care of Raymond. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 15 at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave, Poquonock followed by burial with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 14 from 3 PM to 6 PM at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave, Poquonock.
