Raymond K. Morin, Sr., 80½ of South Windsor passed away peacefully at home on Thursday 04 AUG 2016, under Hospice Care, in South Windsor, CT, with his family at his side, after a long battle with cancer. He was born at home in New Bedford, MA on 07 NOV 1935, the son of the late Ovila David Peter and Olga Cunha (Madeiros) Morin. He grew up in New Bedford, and his life was one of hard work. Ray enjoyed his time with his grandmother, Anna Madeiros and his aunts. On 06 JULY 1957, he married Lois Josephine Hutchinson of Fall River, MA at Our Lady Of MT Carmel Church whom he divorced in 1974. He wished to thank her for their 6 children. He lived most of his life in Hartford, CT and he worked in the Engineering Department at Hartford Hospital as a Grounds Keeper for over 50 years. He said that he spread joy through his landscaping to all those who were ill. After retirement, Ray lived in various places spending time near his children and then made a home approx. 2 years ago in South Windsor with a Companion Nancy Andrulot. He was a member of East Granby LIONS Charities, Inc. and of the Granby Grange #5 while living in East Granby, and was previously a member of Elks Lodges in East Hartford and Hartford. An avid bowler, he was part of many leagues at Bowl-A-Rama in Newington for just as long as he worked. Ray is survived by his six children with their children: Raymond Morin of CT and his daughter; Frederick Morin of The USA, David G. Morin of Hartford and his partner Joan A. Corbin of West Hartford, and daughters Heather A. Morin and partner George Lys and their daughter Maya Ann Lys of Cromwell, and daughter Jaimie L. Morin of West Hartford; RoseAnna Lois Smith and husband Charle, of East Granby and their children, Timothy I. Bingham and wife Courtney and their daughter Tara Rayne Bingham of Bloomfield, CT; Scott E. Bingham and fianceé Amanda Violette and her daughter, Olivia Violette of East Granby, CT; Kellie L. Gallagher and husband Randolph Gallagher and their sons, Craägen and Taliesin of Abbottstown, PA; Karla L. Andrulot and husband David of South Windsor, and her son Stephen of Granby; Kyle S. Smith and his wife Vera of Eagleville, PA and their children Zachary, Gabrielle and Christian; Keri Reinhardt and her husband Gerald of Overland Park KS and their daughter Laurel, He was also predeceased by at least two grandchildren, one of which was RoseAnna Smith's in Jan 2015 stepdaughter Crystal Bingham Lorenzo. Crystal was survived by husband Leonardo Lorenzo her children Jaylanielle Hernandez, Jonah Lorenzo and Jazlyn Lorenzo; His ever loving daughter Miss Jannette Amy Morin of Tolland, CT and Vivian Wilson of New Britain and her fiancé Peter Bombard and her daughters Melinda Wilson of Newington and Samantha Wilson of New Britain, CT. Raymond loved and held dearly the fact that he stood up for a niece as her Godfather and that ceremony was performed at ST Anne – Immaculate Conception RC church in Hartford, CT. Jennifer Morin whose mother is Traci Duquette of New Britain, CT. Ray is also survived by three sisters and two brothers: Annette J. Morin of Warwick, RI with her children, August Cote, Jr and his wife Linda, Donna Renzi and her husband Mark, Kenneth Cote, Darlene Jordan, and her husband Steven, Kimberly Sebastian and Kendra Wilson; Marlene Fish of Worcester, MA and her two daughters Danielle Bilideau of GA with her children, and Nancy Boomhower with her 4 children and 4 grandchildren of NH; Vivian Frank of Acushnet, MA, and her children, Duane Atkinson with his wife Sherry and their child Kyle Atkinnson of Portsmouth, RI, Michael Atkinson with his wife Christine and their children, Alyssa Atkinson, Kendal Atkinson of Dartmouth, MA and Chevrie Cox with her husband Jonathon and child Harper Cox of Fairhaven, MA, and Viviane Lague Brosius with husband Christopher Brosius of Wareham, MA with children Jasmine Lague of Buena Vista, CO, Skylah Lague, Benjamin Lague, Gracie Lague, and Kiara Lague of Wareham and Acushnet, MA, Tara Reynolds with Fiance Tony with son Jacob Reynolds and brothers: Ronald J Morin and wife Sharyn of Oxford, MA, and their children Christopher of Boston, MA and Shari-Ann and husband Paul Murphy of Oxford, MA. Adrian Morin of West Hartford and his partner Patricia Carlson with children Christopher Morin with his children Aubrey and Kaden, Jennifer Morin and Brittany Morin with son Colton. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth R. Morin, Sr. and on Aug. 27th, 1997 Paul R. Morin who has a surviving daughter Paula Morin. Kenneth R. Morin's surviving Children are: Pamela Hutt and her children Eric Morin, Mark Rizzo, Jonathon Jensen and Jack Jensen Carol Bailey and her children Dawn Bailey and April Bailey with her son Lincoln McLead, Kenneth R. Morin, Jr. with his wife Michelle Morin and their children Cody Morin, Ashley Morin, Dylan Morin, and Austyn Morin all of Columbia, CT. And Susan Gerber with her husband Todd Gerber and daughter Kelly Walker and Brianna Gerber. As mentioned before, Ray was also predeceased by at least two grandchildren. There are also many cousins, nieces and nephews as we have not mentioned all his surviving aunts, and uncles' family lineages from both the Morin and Madeiros Family trees. The family would like to thank Hartford Hospital for the care of our father during his multiple stays in his last years, but most recently the Hartford Healthcare Home Hospice Team and the Home Helpers, Inc., for the wonderful care that they provided. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. There will be a closed casket wake and services on Wednesday 11 AUG at 7:00 PM and funeral mass at St. Anne – Immaculate Conception RC Church, 820 Park Street, Hartford followed directly by grave side service and burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fairfield Avenue,
