Rachel (Hebert) Youell, 93, of Avon, formerly of Manchester, CT and Dennis, MA beloved wife of the late Louis W. Youell, died peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 13, 1923 in Westbrook, ME, daughter of the late Thomas and Alvina (Roderick) Hebert. Rachel lived in Manchester for many years and worked as a Loan Processor for CSEA Credit Union, retiring in 1981 after many years of service. In her retirement, Rachel spent time between her beloved Cape Cod, MA and Vero Beach, FL. Rachel was full of life and brought pleasure to everyone she touched. She was a fun, feisty and social woman who enjoyed a cocktail by the Cape Cod Canal, hosting one of her fabulous happy hours or spending time at the beach. She loved to laugh and sing and will be fondly remembered by her family for the fabulous meals she would create. Her family hopes she is toasting right now to a reunion with Lou, her husband of 68 years. She leaves her children, Karen Reid and her husband Sydney of Ellington, Kristine Cameron and her husband Michael of Manchester and Kim Pendleton of Stuart, FL; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Youell of Canton. She was pre-deceased by her beloved son, Gary. Her family wishes to thank her caregivers for their kind and compassionate care, Amanda, Samantha, Jahira, Sheri and Michelle. Her family will receive friends on Friday, September 23, 2016, from 9-10 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor; followed by a service in the funeral home to begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489-1058.
