Paul Edward Martin Sr., 84, beloved husband of Janet (Moran) Martin, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born on April 13, 1928, in Milton, MA, son of the late George L. and Edith (Barron) Martin. He was a graduate of Quincy High School and Bentley College. Paul served our country with the U.S. Navy. He was married to the love of his life, Janet on September 22, 1956, and together they celebrated over 56 years of marriage. A kind, caring, loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed by all. Along with his wife, Janet, he leaves his children, Paul Martin Jr. and his wife Filomina of W. Hartford, CT, Suzanne Woods and her husband Jay of Plymouth, MA, Laurie Kumnick and her husband Michael of Granby, CT, Kathleen Hood and Michael Galat of Suffield, and Scott Martin and his wife Kelly of Plymouth, MA; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who adored him; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John B. Moran and his wife Phyllis of Virginia Beach, VA, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may gather on Monday, February 18, 2013, 10 a.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Rt. 159) Suffield; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. Burial will be private at the request of his family. His family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
