Written by Family Patricia 'Pat" Joy, 77, of East Hartland, CT passed away peacefully on June 4, 2017 Mom was born on May 22, 1940 to Katherine "Kay" and Emile Voiland. Mom was the youngest of 4 children and is predeceased by her parents and 3 brothers Eugene, Lewis "Sonny" and Norman. Mom married Dad (Brig Gen USAFR Ret Donald E Joy, Jr.) on August 14, 1959. They moved to East Hartland, CT in 1963 and it has been our home town ever since. During that time, they spent many periods traveling, camping, seeing the countryside and raising 6 children while Mom was Dads partner during his lifetime Air National Guard career. Mom loved painting (especially on saw blades of all kinds), birds (her favorite being hummingbirds and cardinals), bowling, ceramics and the many years spent with family and friends at the "Chicken Coop" in East Otis, Ma. Those who know her will always cherish Moms generous heart and fighting spirit that we all love and respected. Mom is forever in our hearts: Lisa J Einarsen of East Hartland, CT, Donald Joy and Kathy of Enfield, CT, predeceased by Scott Joy, Duff and Zorica Joy of Escondido, CA, Kenny Joy and Cathy of West Hartland, CT, and Hallie Joy of East Hartland, CT.
