Patricia Barbara (Connor) Wells earned her angel wings on Sunday, May 7, 2017 and flew high to join her beloved Harold A. Wells who predeceased her on December 22, 2016. Pat was born on December 20, 1932, in Long Pond, ME to Patrick and Yvonne Ferland Connor. Sadly, her father passed away just prior to her birth. Her mom married Austin Kennedy shortly after and to her, he was dad. She spent the early portion of her life in and around logging camps in backwoods Maine, where her mom and dad were working. She lived with relatives for a short while attending Winslow schools for a few years but graduated from Bingham High School in Maine. She enjoyed her summers at the camps. After schooling Pat came to Connecticut with a friend and found employment at Pratt & Whitney. While employed there and on a blind date she met the love of her life Pete (Harold). They were married on August 4, 1958 in East Hartford, CT. Together they created an amazing, fun, adventurous life for themselves and their two boys. Many exciting trips were made every year to Maine, Massachusetts, Florida and Missouri to visit relatives and hang out with friends around a cozy campfire. Perhaps the largest adventure of her life was the trip she and Pete took in 1993 to journey over 18, 000 miles through the U.S. including much of Alaska and Canada. Pat is survived by her two sons and daughters in law; Jim and Karin Wells of South Glastonbury, Steve and Nancy Wells of Tolland, her grandchildren Christopher, Lindsay and Alex Wells, and two sisters; Kay Moulton of Harmony, ME and Ann Simpson of Skowhegan, ME. She is also survived by Sister in laws Flora Kennedy of Higginsville, MO, Ruth Morain of Pensacola, FL, Clara Wead and her husband Raymond Jr. of Hubbardston, MA as well as many extended family members. She also leaves behind, her joyous bird Molly, who will miss Pat talking to her daily. Besides her parents and her husband, Pat was predeceased by her grandson Brian and her sisters Gloria Rodden and Carol Blair. The family would like to acknowledge Caring Hands and most importantly, Abagail G. for her patience and care given to not only Pat but also Pete over the past 13 months. Without her, they would not have been able to remain in their loving home. Despite a rough start in life and health setbacks along the way, Pat was a strong, quiet, yet integral part to a great life had by her, Pete, the boys and their many extended family members. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The American Heart Association, 1 Union Street #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or a charity of donor's choice. Calling hours are being held 9 am to 11 am on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, 550 Hartford Turnpike (RT 30), Vernon, CT 06066 with a Catholic Mass to follow. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, 22 Cemetery Avenue, Vernon. For online condolences and directions please visit www.CarmonFuneralHome.com
