Nyger D. Francois, 43, of Hartford, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28th, 2018, with his mother, fiancée, two sons and brother surrounding him at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Nyger, known by family as Ny-Ny and by many others as Nyg, was born on October 24, 1974 at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT to Veronica (Wilson) Francois and the late Douglas Francois. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Bloomfield, CT where he resided until 1997. He was baptized at Christ Church Cathedral where he became a life long member. While in Bloomfield, Nyg lived on Rockwell Ave or “The Roc” to be exact. He attended school in Bloomfield and developed friendships that would last a lifetime. Nyger also attended St. Timothy’s Middle School in West Hartford, CT and is a graduate of Bloomfield High School, Class of 1994 along with his loving godbrother Desmond Richards. After graduation, Nyger wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps to become a mechanic. He achieved this goal by enrolling and graduating from Porter and Chester Institute in Wethersfield, CT. For a few years, Nyger was employed by Goodyear before moving on to becoming a mechanic at USAirports. A Jack of all trades and good with his hands, Nyger changed careers to Fire Protection and became a Sprinkler Fitter. One of his favorite sayings was “safety first”. He worked at HHS Mechanical Contractors in East Hartford, CT until his health declined. After 24 years in Bloomfield, Nyger decided to relocate back to Hartford and start a family of his own. In January of 2000, he and his long-time girlfriend Towanda had their first son Camrin, followed by their second son Caydin in July of 2003. In 2010 Towanda and Nyger got engaged. Nyger was an avid NY Jets fan that loved music, cars, cooking and NASCAR. Just like his mom and dad, Ny-Ny wasn’t afraid of the kitchen. He was a good cook that wasn’t scared to try new dishes, sometimes calling his parents in Florida to get ideas and instructions on how to make certain dishes. On any given Sunday, you could catch Nyg in the kitchen making a spread, watching NASCAR and/or the football game. When you went to his house you were sure to get a plate of good food. Ny-Ny also loved to play music, one of his favorite hobbies. He loved reggae, calypso, and soca, not to be played at a low volume. He loved to party, have a good time, laugh and make jokes nonstop. If there was anyone you could think of that lived life to the fullest, Nyg name would surely have to come up. He loved life and was the life of the party. He truly enjoyed and made the best of his life. Nyg was a kind and generous man, that would always look out for his friends and family. If you needed help, he was willing to give a helping hand. Sometimes even taking over the task at hand. Anything you needed, you could call on Ny-Ny to get things done. He always thought of others and never left anyone out. No matter how far away you were Nyg would be there for you. Everyday he would check on his parents and brother to see if they were alright or if there was anything they needed. You always knew Ny-Ny had your back. Nyger was a devoted family man that adored he sons. He was very protective of his boys and wanted the best for them. He always took care of home first and made sacrifices for the well-being of his family. He was also a loving and protective partner to Towanda. They worked hand and hand together to raise their two sons and take care of each other through their own health crises. He was a great son, brother and nephew. One of a kind. He never left his younger brother out. He helped take care of him from day one. Wherever Nyg went Chris went. Known for his tell it like it is attitude and strong will, Ny-Ny was not afraid to speak his mind. He did not hold anything back. No matter what the conversation or argument, Nyg voice was heard. He made sure he got his point across. Nyg was brave and strong-minded. There are so many words to describe Nyg; generous, fun loving, hardworking, just to name few. In his 43 years, he touched many lives and made an impact on so many more. God has taken Nyger to a better place. He called upon Nyger to take on a different task. He served on Earth and did all that God wanted him to do here. God wanted an angel to help him in Heaven. Who better to give a helping hand than Ny-Ny. He was loved by many and will truly be missed. He leaves to mourn his mother Veronica Francois of Sebastian, FL; his fiancée Towanda Robinson of Hartford, CT; his two sons, Camrin and Caydin Francois of Hartford, CT; his brother Christopher Francois of Sebastian, FL; his sister Jillian (Nigel) John of Rockledge, FL; his two nieces, Kadijah and Kayla John of Rockledge, FL; his grandmother, Carmen Wilson of Sebastian, FL; his aunts, Marjorie Wilson of Manchester, CT, Jacqueline (Greg) Hogan of Meriden, CT, Yvonne Francois of Orlando, FL, Joycelyn (Francois) Clements of Trinidad; his uncles Cecil (Veda) Francois of Brooklyn, NY, Kenrick Francois of Queens, NY, Trevor (Linette) Wilson of Jamaica, Dennis Evans of Chicago, IL , Everton (Beverly) Brown of Jamaica.
