Nathena H. Fuller, 93, of Suffield, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 28, 1920, in Suffield, daughter to the late William S. and Amy (Payne) Fuller. A lifelong resident of Suffield, Nathena attended Bridge Street School, where she was voted the healthiest girl in Suffield; and subsequently rode on a cart for the Memorial Day parade that year. She went on to graduate from The Walnut Hill School in Natick, MA and obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Mount Holyoke College. She worked at Aetna for 39 years, before her retirement in 1980. Nathena was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Suffield, where she had served as Treasurer and President. She also served as treasurer of the Suffield Land Conservancy, volunteered with the handicap workshop at the Suffield Emergency Aid Association, served as a Trustee at Suffield Academy and was past Treasurer of the Mount Holyoke Alumni Association. Nathena was a fine athlete in her younger years and enjoyed golf. A kind, caring, loving sister, aunt and friend she will be greatly missed. Her family wishes to thank her caregiver, Carmen Edwards for her kind and compassionate care and friendship over the past few years. She leaves her brother, Samuel S. Fuller of Suffield, her sister, Frances P. Connelly and her husband William of Suffield, her sister-in-law, Sue Elizabeth Fuller of Suffield and many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was predeceased by her brother, Sydney F. Fuller. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013, 11 a.m., at the Second Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Suffield`. Burial will be private at the request of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Second Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 100 North Main Street, Suffield, CT 06078 and or Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
