Myron F. Dimock, 88, of Jupiter, Florida, and Vernon, Connecticut, beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Dimock, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Palm Beach General Hospital in Florida. Born in Rockville, Connecticut, to Howard and Julie Dimock, Myron lived most of his life in Vernon before he retired in 1987 and established a residence in Florida. Myron worked for Pratt & Whitney for over 40 years, starting as a kick bullard operator and achieving the position of general foreman prior to his retirement. Extremely handy, Myron could often be found repairing, improving, or creating something around the house. He was a skilled man who crafted many beautiful pieces of furniture that his family treasured. When he was not working, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, traveling with friends, reading and puzzles – a lot of puzzles. It was common to find Myron up very early each day, sitting at the kitchen table with his Sudoku and crosswords, and not uncommon to find him still there until he successfully finished each one. Myron is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Betty, his son and his wife, Thomas and Gretchen Dimock of Old Lyme, Connecticut, his son, Kenneth, of Vernon, Connecticut, his son and his wife, Brian and Mary Dimock of Vernon, Connecticut, his grandson, Kyle Dimock, of Boston, Massachusetts, his sister, Noma Wentworth of Anaheim, California, and several nieces and nephews and their children. His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10:30 – 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon followed by a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
