Michael Aude, 82, of Vernon, widower, loving husband of 54 years to his late wife Mary Aude, passed away peacefully on Friday June 2, 2017, with his family at his side. Born in Detroit Michigan, the second eldest of four children to the late Wadieha and Alex Aude he lived in New York, and Pennsylvania before coming to Connecticut and settling in Vernon over 50 years ago. He served in the army from 1958-1963. Prior to his retirement from work, Michael worked at Maybury Associates from 1980-2000, working with his longtime friend Tom Maybury. After retiring Mike kept busy watching his great grandson Jordan play baseball. He could often be found enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck with a newspaper in his hand. Mike enjoyed coin collecting, and was often seen directing traffic after Sunday masses at Sacred Heart Parish in Vernon where he was a longtime usher. In his later years, he was a member and supporter of the St. Joseph Church Parish in Rockville. He also enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Detroit Tigers, and Lions. He is survived by his beloved children, Josephine Eckley and her husband Michael of Vernon, Michael Aude of Vernon, Catherine MacGilvray and her husband James of Danvers, MA, and Richard Aude of Vernon; two grandchildren, Alyssa, and Alex; a great grandson, Jordan; a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Aude of Vernon; and sister Sandy Stonier of Sacramento California. A sister, Dorothy Norris of Landover Maryland and Barbara DelGrosso of Detroit Michigan also predeceased him. His family will receive friends for calling hours on Wednesday June 7, 2017 from 5-8 p.m., at the Ladd Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home at 551 Talcottville Ave. (Rt. 83) in Vernon. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday June 8, at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 33 West Street, Rockville. Burial will follow in Valley Falls Cemetery, Vernon. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association , 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183.
