Mary Virginia (Gill) Maziarz, 88, of South Windsor and formerly of Enfield, wife of the late Stanley Maziarz, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Manchester Manor. She was born and raised in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late Patrick and Gertrude (Kelley) Gill. She loved playing cards, cribbage, and puzzles. Mary shared her love of cards while volunteering at local nursing homes. She enjoyed walking at the mall, bird watching, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor. She is survived by her beloved children, Thomas Maziarz and his wife Gail of Windsor Locks, Diane Wray and her husband David of East Hartford, Denise Bero and her husband Richard of South Windsor, Sandra Hogan of Dedham, MA, and Ann Marie Buske and her husband John of Andover; nine grandchildren, Erik, Kelly, Jonathan, Kristopher, Nicholas, Lisa, James, Brynn, and Steven; five great grandchildren, three brothers, William, John and Daniel Gill; three sisters, Sr. Patricia Gertrude, Gertrude Brophy, and Margaret Latulippe, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her grandson, Michael, her two sisters, Barbara Monette and Frances Kirkpatrick and her longtime companion, Stanley Heikoff with whom she enjoyed many happy years. Her family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 11 – 12 NOON followed by a memorial service beginning at 12 NOON at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Interment will be private and at the convenience of her family. Her family would like to thank all the staff at Manchester Manor for the loving care that they gave to Mary.
