Mary (Pintal) Wonsik, 86, of Vernon, beloved wife of the late John T. Wonsik, Sr., passed away during her stay at Evergreen Healthcare Center in Stafford Springs, CT on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Mary was born in Willimantic on November 9, 1929 to the late Andrew and Helen (Juras) Pintal. She & John were married on October 31, 1954. They resided in Manchester for 5 years before settling down in Vernon, where they lived the rest of their lives. Mary worked over twenty years at United Technologies Corporation. She was proud of her Polish heritage. Mary was a past officer at the Polish National Home and a member of the Polish Women's Alliance. She was a diehard polka fan and loved attending local polka dances. Mary was also a big fan of the UCONN Women's Huskies. Mary leaves her sons John Wonsik Jr. of South Windsor, Timothy Wonsik of Los Angeles, CA, her daughters Anita Mulry and her husband George of Vernon and Nancy Seagrave of Enfield. She leaves her brothers Andrew Pintal and his wife Phyllis of Windham, Richard Pintal of Willimantic, and her sister Alice Mott of Windham. Mary leaves her grandchildren Melissa, Melanie, George and his wife Stefanie, Vanessa and her husband Devin, Nicole and her husband Joseph, Michael and Matthew. Also her beloved great grandchildren Natalie, Nathan, Daniella, Sophia, and Austin. Mary was predeceased by her sister Lorraine Goodwin. The entire Wonsik family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Evergreen Healthcare Center for the exceptional care Mary received during her stay. A special thank you to Dr. Arthur Skalski for his care and support over the last few years. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Route 83) Vernon, CT. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Rockville. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Mary's name may be made to the Vernon Ambulance Corps, 280 West Street, Vernon, CT 06066 or to Evergreen Healthcare Center, Resident Recreation Fund, 205 Chestnut Hill Rd, Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
