Mary "Mickey" Louise (DeGray) Harrison, 89, formerly of Windsor and Vernon, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 while residing at Woodlake of Tolland. Daughter of the late Earl DeGray and Ina (Oman) DeGray, Mary was born in Worcester, MA on March 29, 1928 and moved to Windsor in 1954.She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women for many years. Mary retired from Saint Francis Hospital after 30 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She leaves her children, Michael Harrison and wife Nina, Bonnie Foley and husband Mike, Susan Moore, Brenda Harrison; six grandchildren, April Mazzarella, Adam Fernandez, Carrie Fernandez, Benjamin Fernandez, Jessica Moore, Michael Moore; five great-grandchildren, Cassandra Haskins, Abigail Moore, Jacob Fernandez, Dylan Fernandez, Lucy Fernandez Moser; three siblings, Theresa Therault, Frank DeGray, Dody Szuba and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert DeGray and sister, Mildred Chatterton. Mickey was a devout Christian and devoted mother. She taught her children about nature and loved taking them camping, kayaking, bicycling, walking, ice or roller skating and more - all while working, attending nursing school and then working full time in her rewarding field. She loved singing harmony along with her twin sister, Terry, photographing and videotaping family events, she tended beautiful gardens, knitted gifts for family and friends and loved attending concerts or folk events – even adding her voice and funny lyrics - to everyone's delight. She had many adventures well into her later years – like RV traveling across country along with her cousin, Jean. Mickey dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as with her devoted friends – some of whom were Millie Santilli (M&M friends since her nursing days), Myrle and Sara - with whom she loved to attend concerts, Bible studies, walks and more. Although she became quieter these last few years – she never lost her twinkle. Her family will receive friends on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. with a Christian Service immediately following at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, CT 06095.
