Mary (Foley) Connelly, 91, of Glastonbury and formerly of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Timothy Connelly, passed away at her home peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Maurice and May (McCarthy) Foley, she grew up in Hartford and lived most of her life in Windsor before moving to Glastonbury to live with her daughter six years ago. She was a graduate of Hartford High School, Class of 1944. Mary worked in the Loomis Chaffee School alumni office for many years, and after her retirement she was a paraprofessional at Sage Park School in Windsor. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel Church in Windsor, and a member of the Windsor Women's Club. Mary was proud of her Irish heritage, and she enjoyed listening to Irish music, playing cards with her friends, doing the daily word jumble, and watching game shows. She is survived by her children, Daniel Connelly and his wife Julia of Pinehurst, NC, Timothy Connelly Jr. and his wife Sally of Windsor, and Maureen Williams and her husband Michael of Glastonbury; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Gillian, Della, Megan, and Timothy "TJ" Connelly III, and Annie Williams, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Mary was predeceased by her grandson, Patrick Williams (2016), two brothers, William and Edmond Foley, and a sister, Kathleen Troughton. Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Avenue, Windsor. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad Street, Windsor. Burial will follow in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, 282 Washington Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
