Marilyn J. Ferguson, 73, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Sherwood G. Ferguson, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Hartford Hospital following a brief illness. She was born September 23, 1944, in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Bernard and Florence (Page) LeBlanc. Marilyn grew up in East Longmeadow, MA, lived most of her life in Manchester and spent the last twelve years in East Hartford. She was a hardworking, resourceful and selfless woman who always put others’ needs before her own. She spent almost forty years as an elementary para-professional in the Manchester School system and also worked at Munson’s Chocolates in Bolton for over twenty years. Marilyn was an avid reader who enjoyedcooking and baking. She loved using her skills to create home-made gifts and treats that she was happy to share. Above all, she cherished spending time (including talking and texting!) with her family. She is survived by four children who already miss her, Barbara Skenyon and her husband Stephen of South Windsor, CT, Carl Stevenson and his wife Shaun of Mission Viejo, CA, Craig Stevenson and his wife Janelle of West Bend, WI, and Debra Donovan of Hillsborough, NH,; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Kathleen, Thomas, Brent, Sabrina, Scott, Jacob and Abigail, and ten great-grandchildren. She was especially close to and loved travelling with her sister, Janet Gagnon and her husband Tom of Sun City Center, FL and sister-in-law, Kathy LeBlanc of Somers, CT, three brothers, Robert LeBlanc of Denver, CO, Martin LeBlanc and his wife Barbara of Denver, CO and Steven LeBlanc and his partner Bill of Riverside, RI and sisterLaurie Boswell and her husband Robert of St. Augustine, FL. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Donald LeBlanc.Her family would like to thank her neighbor and friend Dave for all his help over the years. Memorial donations may be made to crohnscolitisfoundation.org. Per her request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside memorial will be held at a future date.
