Margaret Osanna Papelian (formerly Muller), 89, a lifelong resident of Windsor, CT, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Born in Newton, MA, she was the daughter of Armenian Genocide survivors, Garabed and Osanna Papelian. A lifelong resident of Windsor, CT, she worked for the Windsor Public School system and subsequently the Hartford Insurance Group and Cigna for many years. Margaret was a proud veteran who served in the Women's Army Corp during the Korean War. From an early age, Margaret was involved with church choirs, radio shows and in recent years WIN TV's Senior Voice. She also won three Ollie Awards for her participation in the TV program. As a single mother, with her encouragement, all four children graduated from college. Then it was Margaret's turn--at age 76, after 20 years of courses at Capitol Community College, she earned her Associates Degree in 2004. Margaret's favorite pasttimes were reading, visiting the Windsor Public Library and spending time with her kitty, Spunky. Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Garabed and Osanna Papelian, sisters Pauline Dlugozima and Agnes Kilmer, brothers Sarkis Papelian, Alexander Papelian and wife Joan Papelian, and niece and nephew Nancy and Steven Papelian.
