Madeline Larose Huot, 86, of South Windsor, Connecticut peacefully passed away on February 18, 2017, in Manchester. Our mom, "Maddie," was predeceased by her fun-loving husband, Donald R. Huot. Maddie was born at home in South Hadley, Massachusetts, on a chilly November 12, 1930, to her excited parents, Romeo and Florence Larose. She was the middle child with an older brother Robert (Bob), and a younger sister, Jackie, who quickly became her best friend. She became the apple of Donald's eye-seven years her senior-after he offered her a ride home while she waited for the bus. They took the long way home and the rest is a beautiful story. Donald and Maddie married when she was at the tender age of nineteen, not long after high school. Together, they enjoyed a life filled with love, laughter, family, friends and the sounds of six active children. Maddie volunteered multiple times as room mother, watched countless numbers of children's sporting events and dance routines, and chauffeured each and every one of them. She was selfless, beautiful, and gave everything she had to her husband and children. In her spare time, she helped in the South Windsor Community Women's Club, Library and Historical Society. She didn't have time for hobbies, but could make a mean apple pie, delicious spaghetti sauce and created some gorgeous quilts. Mom should have received the mother of the year award, because she was her children's best cheerleader! Maddie is survived by her children, Wayne Huot and Laurie Allen, Glenn and Donna Huot, Susan Huot-Singer and Donald Singer, Jeff Huot, Jon and Donna Huot and Alan Huot and Dawn Lee; 13 awesome grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren with a soon-to-be 4 and 5 on the way. In addition to her loving husband and parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Robert Larose and Jackie Larose Labrie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, February 24 at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd., South Windsor, CT. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley, MA. Maddie's family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23 from 4-8PM at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 661 Main St., Manchester, CT 06040. Maddie's family would also like to honor and thank the nurses, aides and ancillary staff on the North Wing of Manchester Manor.
