Lawrence L. Coppedge, 60, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. Lawrence was born in Richmond, VA on March 1, 1957, son of the late Emma Jane (Hawley) Coppedge, and grew up in Hartford. Lawrence was a devoted child of God under the ministry of Pastor Cleo White at Kingdom Community Church in Windsor and most recently under the ministry of Bishop Michael Mitchell at King’s Chapel Church of God in Hartford. Lawrence attended Hartford Public High School and later entered the carpentry and painting profession in which he traveled frequently. Lawrence was a private person who was known for his positive portrayal of others, golden laughter, and beautiful smile. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Sanders Coppedge and six children, Ruby Sanders, Kevin Taylor, Idella Jones, Lawrence L. Coppedge, Jr. and his wife Sasha, Brandon Coppedge and his wife Shakeena , and Simone Byrd; five brothers, Donald Coppedge and his wife Bessie, James Coppedge and his wife Karen, Sterland Coppedge, Willard Coppedge, and Dwight Coppedge; two sisters, Camilla Coppedge and Carolyn Coppedge. He also leaves behind 13 cherished grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Lawrence was raised by his beloved stepfather, Willard L. Byrd who predeceased him in 1989.
