Laurie (LaPointe) Harmon, 58, of Enfield, beloved wife of Dana P. Harmon, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. She was born on January 25, 1954, in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Laura (Bordeaux) Newell and the late Henry LaPointe. Laurie grew up in Berlin, CT. She worked as the manager of the Garden Department at Home Depot, a job she truly loved. Laurie enjoyed cooking, cook books, sewing and crafts. She was smart and witty. A kind, caring, and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed by all. Along with her mother, Laura Newell and her husband Homer, of Mexico, ME and her husband of over 20 years, Dana of Enfield, she leaves her daughter, Amie Wirth of Berlin, her son, Bruce Polaske Jr., and his wife April of Windsor Locks; her brother, John LaPointe of Berlin; three grandchildren, Kayla Polaske, Madison Polaske and Haylie Wirth; and her niece Danielle Roohr and her daughter, Brooke, of East Hartford. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 8 to 10 a.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. North (Rt. 159) Suffield. A memorial service will follow on Thursday morning, beginning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the request of her family.
