Kevin “Guido” Jonathan Champagne, 39, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at his home. Born in Bristol on November 25, 1977, son of Pamela (Nigro) Champagne of Stafford Springs and the late Walter Champagne, Sr., he was raised in Simsbury and Granby and attended St. Mary School in Simsbury and Granby Memorial High School in Granby. Kevin had lived in Windsor Locks, Suffield, and Stafford Springs before moving to Manchester three years ago. Kevin worked with his brother Walter, Jr. “Butch” in his landscaping business for over 10 years before leaving to start his own fertilizing business. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, cooking for his family and friends and gardening around his home. He leaves his mother and stepfather, Pam Champagne and John Trainor of Stafford Springs; a daughter, Hailey Lynn Champagne of Stafford Springs; a brother, Walter “Butch” Champagne, Jr. of North Granby; and three nieces, Katrina Marie, Amber Lynn, and Shyanne Mae Champagne. He was predeceased by his father, Walter S. Champagne, Sr. less than one month ago. His family will receive friends on Friday, July 21, 5-8 p.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 11 a.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, Granby. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
