HINCKLEY. Kenneth E. Hinckley, Sr., 92, of Suffield, beloved husband of Dorothy (Sweatland) Hinckley passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Born August 15, 1924 in Suffield, son of the late Harold and Lillian (Tilden) Hinckley. Ken served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of American Legion Suffield Post 94. Other than his time in the military, Ken lived his entire life within 200 feet of his birthplace home. He worked as a carpenter, he worked for Aetna Life and Casualty for many years as the carpentry supervisor before retiring. Besides his wife, Dorothy of 67 years, he is survived by a son, Charles Hinckley and his wife, Laurie, a son Kenneth Hinckley, Jr., a daughter, Sandra Files and her husband, Terry; a brother, John Hinckley and his wife, Virginia; a sister, Judith Whitten. Ken was predeceased by a son, Keith Hinckley. Special thanks to all the staff at Bickford Healthcare for the care given to Ken over the last six months. His family will receive friends Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2-4 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. Burial will be at the convenience of his family in West Suffield Cemetery, West Suffield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Suffield Police Association, 911 Mountain Rd., Suffield, CT 06078, ATTN: Karen.
