Josephine (Cappelli) Mollo, 91, of Simsbury, beloved wife of the late Ernest Mollo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her Simsbury home on Thursday, June 9, 2016. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York," Jo" was one of four children born to Peter and Antoinette (Baldassarre) Cappelli. Josephine was a tower of strength with strong values. She was a devout Roman Catholic with deeply-rooted faith. She had an extraordinary zest for living. Her family was always her first priority. She was a devoted wife married to Ernest for 62 years. She was a loving mother who raised her four children in their Westchester, N.Y. home. She leaves her sons, Peter Mollo and his wife Stephanie Maniscalco of Irvington, NY, Douglas Mollo and his wife Amie of West Palm Beach, FL; daughters Susan Viola and her husband Richard of Glen Head, NY, and Ellen Seifts of Avon, CT; grandchildren Christina and Manish Viola Srivastava, Gregory and Lorian Viola, Olivia Smith, Ryder, Hudson, and August Mollo, Daniel and Hannah Mollo; and great grandchildren Maria and Prem. She was predeceased by her brother Michael Cappelli. Her brother Louis Cappelli resides in Bronxville, NY and her brother Marshall Cappelli in Seneca, SC. Jo's family will receive friends on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Rd., Avon, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 13, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 940 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT. Burial will be private, the following day, in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Catholic Charities, 467 Bloomfield Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002. For directions or condolences, please visit
