Joseph F. Nai, 87, a longtime resident of Suffield and formerly of Windsor Locks, died Sunday evening, (July 11, 2010) at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.

He was born and educated in Windsor Locks, a son of the late Frank and Angelina (Diana) Nai, and was a graduate of Windsor Locks High School.

Joe was a veteran of WW II, serving with the United States Army Corp of Engineers. Upon his honorable discharge he returned home and began a long career with the former Choice-Vend Company, Windsor Locks as the Plant Engineer until his retirement.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church of Suffield and a former member of the Night Owls Organization, Sons of the Desert Chapter of Suffield.

Joe is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Sitters) Stango-Nai and leaves a step-son, Wayne Stango of Lansdale, PA; a step-daughter, Laurie R. Stango-Burke of Doylestown, PA; three brothers, Peter, Mario and Jerry Nai all of Enfield; three sisters, Theresa Stoddard of Simsbury, Angelina McCarthy and Phyllis Fisher both of Enfield; two grandsons, Christopher and Brian Tuttle both of FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was the brother of the late Charles Nai, Mary Landry and Frances Sic.

His funeral will be held on Friday, July 16th at 9:15 am from the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Rt. 159), Suffield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Mountain Rd., Suffield with burial and Military Honors to conclude at St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 5-8 pm.
