Joseph "Joey" David Maura, 20, a lifelong resident of South Windsor, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Joey was born in Hartford CT, on November 12, 1996 to John and Kathleen (Hill) Maura. He graduated from South Windsor High School, Class of 2014. Joey was a funny, light hearted, gentle, and very loving person. He enjoyed playing hockey and lacrosse, had a passion for adventures, and loved spending time with his friends and family, and his dog, Blondie. Joey had an infectious smile that will be missed by all. He was adored by both of his loving parents, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Joey is survived by his father John Maura of Broad Brook; his mother Kathleen Maura of East Hartford; sister and brother Melissa and Johnny Maura of South Windsor; paternal grandparents Barbara and Paul LaPenta; maternal grandmother Jean Hill; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Calling hours are being held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 3 – 6 pm at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.
