John William Aberle, 62, of Ellington, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 2, 2016. He was born on May 13, 1954 the son of his late parents, Doris (Ferrell) Aberle and Henry Aberle, Jr. John was a graduate of Ellington High School, class of 1973. John lived his entire life on the family farm in Ellington. He worked by his father's side milking the cows, haying the fields and cutting corn. He was a hardworking son who loved being a farmer. John also loved to fish and hunt with his cousins and friends. He enjoyed hanging out under the linden tree with family and friends sharing a few cold beers on a hot summer day. He leaves his sisters, Karen Pitney (Dennis) of Ellington, Nancy Lowther (John 'Red') of Vernon, Mary-Jane Williams (Norman) of Ellington and Diane 'Dee Dee' Garner of Ellington. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and his nephews. John was predeceased by his brothers; James H. Aberle, Henry Aberle, III, his baby sister Nancy Jane Aberle, and his brother-in-law Bruce Garner. His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Monday. September 12, 2016 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon followed by a prayer service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery.
