John A. Jezyk, 73, of Windsor, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2017 at his home. John was born on August 24, 1944 in Hartford and was a son of the late Albin E. Jezyk and Genevieve Bridgit (Wictor) Jezyk. A graduate of Windsor High School Class of 1962, John played the trombone in the original Windsor High School band. After graduation John began working at Stanadyne in Windsor and became an advisor and mentor in the Junior Achievement program. His career at Stanadyne as a Metrologist spanned over 43 years and afforded him countless friends and colleagues. John was selfless, mentoring and training countless colleagues in Connecticut and around the globe. Throughout his career he traveled to several countries and all across the United States. John was passionate about serving his community and was an active member of the Windsor Lions Club for the past eight years. One of his greatest contributions was the organizing of the spring and fall Windsor Lions Club Craft Fairs held on the Windsor town green. John enjoyed woodworking and building, golfing, and spending time in the outdoors. He leaves behind his dear sister Phylis D. Jezyk of Windsor as well as a multitude of friends, neighbors, and colleagues in Connecticut and around the world. Calling hours will be held from 4 - 6 pm on Monday August, 7, 2017 at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor with a service immediately following at 6 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Lions Club, P.O. Box 55, Windsor, CT 06095.
