Jennie Blazis, 95, of Suffield, formerly of Poquonock, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Suffield House in Suffield. She was born September 6, 1919 in Hartford to the late John and Adela (Kwiatkowski) Blazis. A Poquonock resident for most of her life she was a bookkeeper for Combustion Engineering and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, cards and visiting the casino. She also enjoyed her time at the Suffield Senior Center. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor B. Kula of Poquonock; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, John Blazis and Anthony Blazis, her sister, Della Gutt, as well as her special friend, Rudolf Christopher. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Poquonock section of Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Poquonock.
