James P. Coleman, Sr., 79 of Naples, FL and Old Lyme, CT, beloved husband of Mary K. (Sluzinski) Coleman, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016. He was born in Williamsport, PA, the son of the late R. Bernard Coleman and Frances Rose (Dickenson) Coleman. He was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School in Williamsport and received his BA degree from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. He earned his M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut Graduate School of Business. He was a retired Director of the Aetna Capital Management Division of the Aetna Life Insurance Company, and a retired Manager of the Asset Management Services Department of the Hartford Life Insurance Company. He had also served as the Chairman of the Pension Board for the Town of Vernon. During his retirement, Jim most enjoyed the many summers he spent with his family at their cottage at Point O' Woods Beach in Old Lyme. In addition to his beloved wife of 55 years, he is survived by two daughters, Mary C. Rodier and her husband, Dr. Louis Rodier of Avon, and Lisa C. Solari and her husband Mario L. Solari of Farmington; and five grandchildren Nicole M. and Elizabeth M. Rodier both of Avon; Catherine M., James M., and John J. Solari all of Farmington. He was predeceased by his son James P. Coleman, Jr.; a brother Robert B. Coleman, Jr. and three sisters Mary T. Coleman, Elva Kaiser Decker, and Frances R. Riddell. His family will receive friends Sunday, March 6, 2016, from 3-6 pm at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Family and friends may gather Monday, March 7, 2016 9:15 am at Carmon's of Avon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 am at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road, Avon. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Rockville. Contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Aids Research, 120 Wall Street, 13th Fl, NY, NY 10005-3908.
