James C. Steuer, 83, of West Simsbury, beloved husband of Beverly (Wormley) Steuer, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, May 27, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Harold and Freda (Sauer) Steuer, he was raised in Port Washington, NY. He attended MIT and received his BA from C.W. Post. Jim started a long career in advertising in NYC, then joined the Heublein Co in Hartford and was one of the earliest employees of the Mintz & Hoke Co. in Avon where he retired in 1993. He lived a few years in Granby and spent many years in West Simsbury. A member and Elder of New Life in Christ Fellowship in Simsbury; he also served many years as a Trustee of the Master's School. He was a member of Hopmeadow Country Club and was an avid reader. Besides his beloved wife of 55 years, Beverly, he leaves two sons Thomas Steuer (Lynda) of Clarence, NY and Khamsing Inthisone (Sonnaly) of West Simsbury; his daughter Leeann Steuer (Sam Cullis) of Edgewater, MD; six grandchildren Mira, Daniel, Amber, Brian, Stephanie, and Irie; and a great granddaughter Grace. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Steuer. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016, 2 pm at the New Life in Christ Fellowship, 250 Firetown Road, Simsbury. Pastor Dana Jorgensen will officiate. Entombment will be in Sycamore Mausoleum at Simsbury Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to either New Life in Christ Fellowship or Alzheimer's Association of CT, 200 Executive Blvd, Ste 4B, Southington, CT 06489-1058.
