Jacquelyn A. Gallagher, 63, of South Windsor, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2016, surrounded by her family after giving cancer a run for its money for over the last year. Born in Hartford, Jackie was the beloved daughter of the late John and June (Nerine) Pinto, and a proud graduate of South Catholic High School, Class of 1971. After high school, she continued her studies in Accounting at Manchester Community College and later worked for many years in the public accounting industry for Barron, Yanaros & Caruso in Wethersfield. Jackie also then endeavored to start her own accounting practice and successfully owned and operated Accounting Concerns, LLC for the better part of the last two decades. Jackie was amazingly charismatic—a trait that served her well for many years in the accounting world; and while she enjoyed the technical nature of her work and loved her clients, she also valued her time away from the office. She had a creative soul and loved to cook and bake delicious treats, much to the delight of her family and friends. Jackie treasured having guests to her home just to laugh or share stories about the happenings of the day. When she wasn't busy entertaining, she could always be heard cheering loudly for her cherished UConn Women's Huskies basketball team! She had the biggest heart for everyone and anyone, and always showed constant affection for the people that graced her life. There aren't enough words to highlight how special she was, and how much she will truly be missed and forever loved. Jackie is survived by her loving partner of 31 years, Delphine Donaghue, daughter Genevieve Meneo and her husband Timothy, son Benjamin Gallagher, two brothers John Pinto, Jr. and his wife Diane, and Damian Pinto, two sisters Kathleen Hagist and her husband Tom, and Patricia Monteforte and her husband Joseph, her adored nieces and nephews, Zachary, Danielle, Kelley, Kate, Kayla, and Joseph, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and one of a kind friends. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, September 25 from 2-5PM at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Monday, September 26 at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester. Burial will follow at East Cemetery in Manchester. Guests are asked to go directly to the church on Monday morning. Jackie's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Lilenbaum and the Thoracic Oncology Team at the Smilow Cancer Center for the kind and compassionate care they gave Jackie. Memorial donations in Jackie's honor may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
