It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline C. Donaghue. Short, feisty and forever young Jacqueline died on Saturday, July 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born September 18, 1925 in Hartford she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Kuehnel) Crowley. Jackie was raised in Hartford and graduated in 1943 from Weaver High School. Jackie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent J. Donaghue and the second love of her life, Robert J. Claffey. Jackie moved to Bloomfield in 1954, where for 63 years she raised her family. Jackie had retired from Northwest Mutual Life as an Administrative Assistant. Gardening, a good book, a phone call or a visit from family or friend, brought her great joy. Jackie was proud to be a liberal, both politically and socially. She didn’t care what your race, religion, sexual orientation, social position was, she just loved you for who you were. Jackie loved and cherished her immediate, extended and second families with all her heart. A lifelong animal lover she leaves behind her latest canine companion, Bosco. Jackie is survived by two sons, Daniel Donaghue of Jamestown, RI; Vincent Donaghue II of Parker, CO; two daughters, Margo Burns and her husband Thomas of Suffield; Deirdre Gilbert and her husband Terrence of Bloomfield. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Erin Thiery and her husband Howard, Keverin Burns and her husband Roan, Brendan Burns, Sean Burns and his fiancée Katie, Emily Russo and her husband Chris, Jessica Kaleta and her husband Eric, Caitlin Gilbert and her partner Isabelle, Tarah Donaghue and Willy Smith, Vincent Donaghue III and his wife Agnessa, Troy Donaghue and Lauren. Jackie also leaves nine great grandchildren, Mairead, Cate, Jameson, Conor, Kiernan, Patrick, Ashlin, Axel, and Billie Rose. Jackie is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews including Gretchen Mehegan of Canada. She also leaves her second family: Noreen Claffey, Kevin and Sharon Claffey, Karen and David Seaman, Neil and Ann Marie Claffey, Keith and Jason Claffey, and their children and grandchildren. Left behind are her two dear childhood friends, Mary Ann Munn and Kathy Eckert. Her family will receive friends Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 24, 2017, 10:00 AM. Pleases go directly to St. Patrick St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield.
