DEFRANZO. Irma (Cavalotti) DeFranzo, 91, of Windsor, beloved wife for 64 years of Anthony John DeFranzo, Sr., passed away peacefully with family at her side Thursday, (May 13, 2010).

Born October 3, 1918 in Hartford, daughter of the late Adelino & Maria (Scarrone) Cavalotti, she grew up in Hartford and graduated from Hartford Public High School. She was employed at the Arrow-Hart Corporation during WWII manufacturing electrical components for the war effort. After marriage she started her family in West Hartford and Bloomfield, she then settled in Windsor where she raised and nurtured her family and lived for 54 years. Irma enjoyed baking and raising her family and she was blessed with a wonderful healthy life, a sharp and inquisitive mind right to the very end.

Besides her husband, Anthony, she is survived by her son, Anthony John DeFranzo, Jr. MD of Winston Salem, NC; her daughter, Diane Marie DeFranzo of Windsor; and loving granddog, a chocolate Labrador “Cady”. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to her neighbors, friends, physicians, nurses and volunteer staff at Hartford Hospital and the VNA Hospice Unit for their dedicated, compassionate and loving care.

Family & friends may gather Tuesday, May 18, 9:15 a.m., at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Poquonock section of Windsor followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, Poquonock section of Windsor. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home.
