Heinz Bernhard Priesnitz, 93, of Vernon, beloved husband of the late Irene Helene Priesnitz, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Born in Wolmsdorf, Germany, the son of the late Albert and Maria (Hauke) Priesnitz, he came to the United States in 1959, and lived in Willimantic, Deep River, and Middletown before moving to Vernon eighteen years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1988, Heinz was employed as an engineer/draftsman at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for twenty-five years. He enjoyed photography, hiking, nature, and traveling to Germany. He is survived by his children, Marina Davis and her husband Russ of Bethesda, MD, and Oliver Priesnitz and his wife Kate of Vernon; five grandchildren, Cameron, Jameson, and Helene Davis, and Diana, and Trevor Priesnitz, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Heinz was also predeceased by three brothers, Gerhard, Helmut, and Paul Priesnitz. Burial will be in Fountain Hill Cemetery, 57 High Street, Deep River on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon.
