Gloria Marcia (Edlin) Filkoff, 91, of Lauderhill, FL, formerly of Vernon, died Monday, February 13, 2017. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Abraham and Ida (Yarrish) Edlin. The consummate homemaker and mother and an accomplished hostess, Gloria threw fabulous parties for friends, family and political fundraisers. Quick witted and social, she also volunteered at the Bonaventure Town Center for countless events during her 25 years living in Weston, FL. She was a former corporator of Rockville Hospital, Girl Scout leader and wonderful painter with her own large canvases adorning the walls of her home. Gloria was the devoted mother of Ronnie Ann Ryan and her husband Paul of Milford, and Roy E. Filkoff and his wife Risa of South Windsor, as well as cherished grandmother of Andrew and Zachary Filkoff. Gloria also leaves her sisters-in-law Evelyn Filkoff and Florence Filkoff. She was predeceased by her loving husband James Filkoff, and brother Gilbert Edlin and his wife Helen Edlin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Temple Beth Sholom B'nai Israel, 400 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester with Rabbi Randall J. Konigsburg officiating. Burial will follow in Beth Sholom B'nai Israel, Beth Olam Cemetery, Edith Road, Vernon. Shiva will be observed at the home of her son on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P. O.
