KOLANKO. Frank L. Kolanko, 86, of Windsor, beloved husband of 35 years to the late, Wanda (Midlin) Kolanko died Thursday, (September 30, 2010) at Hartford Hospital.

Born November 17, 1923 in Hartford, son of the late Frank J. and Camilla Kolanko he was a lifelong resident of Windsor. He graduated from Windsor High School with the class of 1940, he served during WWII with the U.S. Army.

He was employed by Stanadyne Corporation for 38 years as a machine setter before retiring. Prior to that he was a truck driver for Hartford Lumber.

Frank loved to garden, he was a member of the Bradley Bowl League and he was an avid golfer.

He is survived by two sons, David Kolanko of West Hartford, Frank Kolanko and his wife, Patricia of North Smithfield, RI; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Kolanko; a sister, Josephine Howard of West Hartford; his companion friend, Faith McCusker of Tolland; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Kolanko; a brother, Stanley Kolanko.

Family and friends may gather Monday, October 4, 8:30 a.m. at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Poquonock section of Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, Poquonock. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock.
