Frank A. Enes, Sr., 81, of South Windsor, beloved husband of over 41 years to Carol (Barnett) Enes, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Born in Hartford, the son of the late William and Elsie (Harlow) Enes, he was a lifelong resident of South Windsor. Frank proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement in 2008, he was a HVAC service technician at Taylor Energy in East Windsor for several years and he was previously employed at Mitchell Fuel in South Windsor. He was a former member of the South Windsor Lions Club, and formerly served as a sheriff in South Windsor. Frank was a life member of the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, and retired as assistant chief. He was an avid Red Sox and UCONN men's and women's basketball fan. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Frank Enes, Jr. and his wife Terri of Jasper, GA, William Enes of Ft. Mill, SC, Robyn Enes and her husband Bobby Link of Bronx, NY, and Sara Thorpe and her husband Jim of Philadelphia, PA; eleven grandchildren, Faith, Jennifer, Joey, Matthew, Jason, Kristine, Carlton, William, Brier, Liliana, and Harper; three great grandchildren; a brother, William Enes, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Ellington; a sister, Elizabeth Vasques of NC, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Margaret Stewart, three brothers, and two sisters. His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor followed by a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Frank's memory may be made to the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, 1175 Ellington Road, South Windsor, CT 06074.
