Ethel (Cheeseman) Williams, 72, of Vernon, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Rockville General Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Alburgh, VT, the daughter of the late Herbert and Theresa (Boutah) Cheeseman, she has lived in Vernon for over 50 years. Ethel was a home health aide in the area for several years. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, going to tag sales and watching UCONN men's basketball. She was a member of the former Tolland VFW Auxiliary Post 241. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Tina Huntoon of Vernon, Mark Williams and his wife Hope of Vernon, Lita Wnuk and her husband Andrew of Willington, and David Williams, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Vernon; eight grandchildren, Tiffany and her husband Jason, Danny and his fiancée Sarah, Christine, Brittany and Matthew, Crystal and her fiancé Alfred, Andrew and Hailey; three great grandchildren, Cecilia, Kaitlyn and Adriana; a brother, Larry Cheeseman of FL; a brother-in-law, Walter Adams of Vernon, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, Gardner Cheeseman; her sister, Joan Boure, and her husband David Williams. Her family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10 – 12 noon at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a memorial service at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Rockville. Ethel's family would like to thank all of the Rockville General Hospital Hospice Staff for the wonderful care that they gave to their mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ethel's memory may be made to the Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon, CT 06066.
